BlogTour Vegas: Wood-Mode Fine Cabinetry for Every Room & Everyone

Wood-Mode, a luxury custom cabinetry manufacturer and BlogTour Vegas sponsor, had one of the most popular booths on the show floor at KBIS.  When you have exquisite cabinetry in a diverse range of styles, finishes, and applications you are sure to draw a crowd.  However when you add puppies…well, talk about over the top!

Yes, Wood-Mode had service dogs in their booth demonstrating their “doggie drawer”, an ingenious hideaway food dish holder.

Attendees were invited to snap a photo or selfie with a pup.  For each photo posted, a contribution was made to help train these pups!

Wood-Mode clearly recognizes the high standing of the family pet!

In the tradition of many of the outstanding companies that sponsored the BlogTour Vegas trip, Wood-Mode has a long  (70+ years) and proud history.  The company was created by four salesmen during World War II. Due to the war efforts no metal kitchen cabinets, which had previously been the norm,  could be made or sold  (can you imagine metal cabinets?).   So, these four men created Wood Metal.

They contracted with the government and supplied products that needed metal such as shell cases, ladders, and signal corps radio cases. All of these products had to meet government specifications, especially the wood finished “radio cases”.  These wood cases had to be sealed against fungus and waterproofed with multiple coats of varnish to withstand extreme climate conditions.

With the post-war Baby Boom, homes were being built all over the country. The same wood finishes that were used for the radio cases were now incorporated into everyday kitchen cabinetry and Wood-Mode Fine Custom Cabinetry was born.

Seeing Wood-Mode cabinets up close and personal gave me the opportunity to admire and appreciate the spectacular  detail both on the exterior and interior of their cabinets and drawers.
