Blogger 19 Heading to Memphis!

Brizo is hosting the Blogger 19 Reunion this week in Memphis Tennessee and I can’t wait to see all the outstanding interiors designers I met in NYC the Fall of 2012…
Arrival day is today (!), with time to explore the city and greet the ducks in the lobby of the Peabody Hotel where we’ll be staying.
On Wednesday we will be visiting the St. Jude Children Research Hospital. I remember collecting money for Danny Thomas and the St. Jude Hospital as a little girl. I never ever imagined I would visit one day, this will be such a privilege. As part of their unique mission, no family ever pays St. Jude for anything ~ currently 81 cents of every dollar received has supported the research and treatment at St. Jude. Just incredible!
We will also be touring the Target House which is a facility featuring 96 fully-furnished, two bedroom apartments where patients and their families can stay during 3 month or longer treatments at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital ~all at no cost!
Wednesday evening we will be treated to a dinner event at the lovely Peabody Hotel.
On Thursday we will be donning hardhats for the tour of the Brizo manufacturing facility in Jackson, TN. I love to see the way things are made, and seeing how the artful products from the Brizo line are created will be a treat. Yippee! However, no loose clothing and closed toes shoes required!
Thursday night we are off to a Memphis Jazz Club (stay tuned for some jazzy photos on Instagram and next week’s blog). The suggested dress code is “urban chic” ~ does anyone know what that means? My trusted assistant, Jen, assures me I dress like this most of the time ;-).
