BlogTour KBIS: The Luxury of DXV

Jan 27 2017 · 2 comments · BlogTour KBIS, Design Events ·2

As American Standard entered its fifteenth decade of business, they proudly launched their DXV by American Standard line. DXV fixtures and fittings for Bath and Kitchen are “inspired by historically significant designs, reinterpreting them in light of today’s aesthetic and performance demands”.

For the past few years, DXV has selected a small number of outstanding designers to serve on their Design Panel.  Each year the designers are given a theme to design a vignette around with the finished product showcased at the KBIS show.  In this year’s vignettes, designers paid homage to four iconic cities, marrying timeless products from DXV with equally stunning design choices and accessories.

The members of the DXV 2016 Design Panel are: Susan M. Jamieson, Richard T. Anuszkiewicz, Beth Dotolo, Carolina V. Gentry and Genevieve Ghaleb.  It was such a treat to meet all of these amazing designers and see their incredible work for DXV in person.

Each designer had a city and time period to use as inspiration.  While all of the vignettes were beautiful, I adored the bathroom designed by Susan Jameson of Bridget Beari Designs.

Susan’s design was based on the Southern city of  Charleston,  with a sophisticated mix of yesterday and today in her interpretation.  Just look at this stunning space!

Now for a few details… Susan selected the DXV Fitzgerald Tub placed in front of a historically styled  Palladian Spiderweb window highlighted by a beautiful oversized toile wall covering.

The DXV Oak Hill toilet, with it’s simple but classic curves, is perfect in the loo room. I love the scale in this space and the creative use of the green subway tile~

The vanity simply took my breath away. Two petite Pop Round Under Counter sinks in black are set under a vast expanse of Carrera marble. The smaller footprint of the sinks allows for more counter space.  I adored every detail of this custom piece that was complete with a modern lower shelf for towels.

I had the chance to speak to Susan and she raved about this experience and said, “I enjoy designing spaces with DXV because the brand gives me a myriad of product options that I can use for classical or modern design. Regardless of the look I am envisioning. DXV is always there for me.”

The bathroom and the designer, true Southern classics!

Thank you to DXV, Modenus, and all of the wonderful sponsors of BlogTour KBIS 2017.
