Cape Cod Golf Course Condo: The Bedrooms

Jul 15 2016 · 0 comments · My Designs ·0

I recently completed a project with the most wonderful client.  She is a single professional woman who works with facts and figures in her career.  That no-nonsense mindset is softened by her kind spirit, most amazing jewelry, and willingness to add color, pattern, and exquisite custom touches in the design of her weekend getaway.  She has traveled extensively in Europe (particularly Greece and Italy) and wanted to incorporate her European style and treasured artwork into this new-to-her space.  I had the best time working on this Cape Cod Golf Course condo project and believe the end result is a  collaboration that truly reflects my client and her personality.

Over the course of several months, we transformed nearly every inch of this previously bland, beige, and boring condo.  To begin our tour, come take a peek at the bedrooms…

The Guest Room

This bedroom, located on the 2nd floor,  began as a beige box.  The best feature was the double window overlooking the golf course.  We framed the view with custom window treatments made with Kravet fabric and coordinating trim.

Another way we highlighted the view was by hanging my client’s mirror at an angle ~ unexpected and a way to visually expand the space.

My Paul ~ he is absolutely the best and he absolutely drives me crazy sometimes :-).  I’m sure the feeling is mutual!

The artwork on this wall belongs to my client and was purchased during her travels.  It always makes a design more meaningful to incorporate personal touches.

I love how we combined a traditional iron bed, store bought pillows, and a custom dust ruffle made from the same Kravet fabric as the window treatments.  The result is visually appealing, layered, and luxurious.

I would love to be a guest in this bedroom!

Mistress Bedroom

The Master Bedroom (or in this case, the Mistress Bedroom) was a mishmash of New England traditional (braided rug) and tying-a-bit-too-hard coastal when my client purchased the condo ~ not at all indicative of her personality or style.

I am so delighted with how we transformed this bedroom into a colorful yet relaxing retreat for my client.

I absolutely love the “bureau” we chose.  It is actually the bottom piece of a hutch meant to be used in a dining room.  The piece (by Hickory Chair from the Ailanthus LTD showroom at the Boston Design Center) is unique with stunning details.  Using furniture in an unexpected way is another way to add interest and depth to an interior design.

The Mistress Bedroom window treatments are probably my favorite in the whole house.

We once again used Kravet fabric and  paired with a decadent fur trim.

We added woven wood blinds for texture

In addition to the wood blinds, we also added a shade.   This bedroom is on the first floor at the front of the condo so ensuring privacy was a must.  The combination of the three elements is practical and beautiful.

The bed is also from Hickory Chair, upholstered with a crushed cream velvet~

The night stand is the Federal Side Table by Hickory Chair.  Both pieces are from the Ailanthus showroom.

This project was so much fun to work on and I can’t wait to share the rest of this amazing Cape Cod Golf Course condo project over the next few weeks.

What do you think of these bedrooms?  What is your favorite feature?  I’d love to hear!

xo,

Pamela
