Pamela’s Posh Picks: Fine Art Framing

Sep 06 2013 · 0 comments · Posh Picks ·1

Whether you’re looking for Classic Elegance or Clean-lined Modern, the right frame should always complement the artwork it surrounds.  Frame choice should not be based on the interior design of a space or the wall color ~ let the artwork speak for itself!  With that in mind, this week’s Posh Picks feature choices for Fine Art Framing…

Mottled Black over Gold frame:

From Impressionist Frames, this selection also features Antique Gold on both the inside and outside edge.  The beaded corners are a great detail.  This type of framing lends itself well to an oil painting where it’s heavier visual “weight” balances well with the weight of the paint.

Basic Metal Frame:

Available in a trio of colors and a variety of sizes to suit any decor, this basic metal frame is a great addition to a gallery wall.  On my own gallery wall, I have a variety of styles of frames.  A basic frame such as this works well within a grouping of more ornate frames to add interest and cut down on visual clutter.

Nuance Wooden Frame:

These wooden frames are available in a great variety of finishes (Platinum, Sterling Silver, & White Gold) and all feature interesting textural details.  Frames of this style would be well-suited for a watercolor or a photograph.

Your local frame shop offers expert advice ( I love Kate at South Street Gallery in Hingham) and a wide selection.  Should you need some guidance on selecting artwork, framing, or creating your own gallery wall, do not hesitate to contact me and we can chat about how my Interior Design services might fit in with your needs!

xo,

Pamela
