Pamela’s Posh Picks: Fall Paint Colors

Sep 27 2013 · 3 comments · My Paintings, Posh Picks ·0

We are in the midst of a beautiful stretch of weather here in the Boston area:  warm, sunny days followed by crisp, cool night ~ just perfect early Autumn!  Also perfect for early Autumn are this week’s Posh Picks:  Fall Paint Colors!  Whether you’re looking to enliven an accent wall or refresh and entire room, these fall-inspired hues are sure to please.   I’ve picked my favorites from Benjamin Moore, let’s take a peek…

Festive Orange:

Festive orange Ben Moore“This super-saturated shade screams “celebration.” For those who love to entertain, this bright and buoyant orange sets the tone for festive, laughter-filled gatherings.”  (via)

You know how I love orange, and this shade lives up to its name!

Sherwood Forest:

Sherwood Forest Ben Moore“Extraordinarily enchanting, this deepest green taps a heavy dose of black to achieve its magical, almost medieval quality. A great grounding color, it is rich and memorable.” (via)

Deep and striking shade of green ~ wonderful.

Graphite:

Cool gray is hot, hot, hot right now!

A lovely reminder of the still green shades of early Fall

Twilight Zone:

There’s a story behind the selection of this bold, deep color…

I have a client (and friend) who is working on a large scale renovation to the 2nd floor of her home.  Among the rooms that are being revamped is the bedroom of her teenage son.  The son’s tastes run urban and contemporary with a touch of theater.  For his room, he lobbied for black walls.  Not surprisingly, my client did not see a black bedroom as a good fit for her ocean-facing Colonial home.  So, we compromised.

One wall will feature Twilight Zone in a glossy finish.

The other walls will be Shadow Gray.

The window trim will be Twilight Zone in a satin finish.

The ceiling will be Feather Gray.

They have already selected a striking black and white framed print of New York City for the wall opposite the accent wall.  I can’t wait to see how it all turns out.  I have a feeling it’s going to be fabulous ~ stay tuned for photos!

Speaking of artwork, it’s been a while since I’ve posted one of my petite paintings here.  Rest assured, I’m still painting!  In fact, we just added several new paintings to the Gallery section of my website.  I invite you to take a peek!  Here’s a little preview…

I tried to *like* it on Facebook from this page, but the box got buried under former posts – and I could SEE a part of the ‘post’ button for my sharing but the cursor was stuck on your other posts. Might want to tell your graphic designer…. Lovely post! love the painting!

Great blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere?
A theme like yours with a few simple adjustements would
really make my blog stand out. Please let me know where you got your theme.
    Thank you
