Posh Peek: A Look Inside My Day with Kandrac & Kole

Mar 25 2014 · 0 comments · Posh Peek ·0

I’m so excited to present this month’s Posh Peek featuring my dear friends Kelly Kole and Joann Kandrac of Kandrac & Kole Interior Designs of Atlanta, GA .  I first met Kelly in NYC at the Brizo event in Fall 2012 (Joann’s daughter was getting married at the time ~ priorities!).  I met Joann a few months later at the Design Bloggers Conference in Los Angeles and well, I fell head over heels for both of them!   Kelly and Joann ooze Southern charm, are wildly talented and totally supportive.  We all will be traveling together both to Milan for BlogTour next month and also to Guatemala in June to build a home for a deserving family.

Are you wondering how this dynamic duo spends a typical day?  Let’s take a Posh Peek…

Describe your workspace.  How does it typically look?

Joann:  My workspace is colorful, organized and surrounded by objects and photos I love. Both my work and home office are infused with apple green (my favorite color).

Kelly:  I have a work office and a home office. Both are extremely neat and organized, colorful, and filled with art and inspirational quotes/messages that are meaningful to me. My work office has 2 pieces of abstract acrylic art that my daughter painted in high school, a vintage wing back chair that I had reupholstered in a wild fabric and a galvanized steel desk with reclaimed barn wood legs.

Did you know at a young age that you wanted to be an Interior Designer?  Were there many detours along the way?

Kelly:  No I didn’t. I went to college for business and entered the corporate world because I thought that’s what everybody did.  I climbed the corporate ladder until I was 33 then jumped off.  I went back to Design School and followed my passion for Design which had always been my therapeutic hobby! It was the most worthwhile leap of faith I could have made for myself (and my family).

Joann:  No, I didn’t realize it until I was in my mid-30s that I wanted to be an Interior Designer.  I worked as an administrative assistant for high level executives and then as a legal secretary.  I moved to Atlanta and was exposed to so much in the way of design that I knew I had found my calling.

If you had an ice cream flavor named for you, what would it be called?

Joann:  Hazelnut Gelato

Kelly:   Strawberry –  I’m always in pink!

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

Kelly:  To be able to fly – I actually dream about this a lot.

Joann:  To read minds – this could be good or very very bad 🙂

Mac or PC?

Joann:  Definitely Mac & iPhone

Kelly:  Apple all the way, 100%

What would the title of your biography be?

Kelly:  The Story of a Life Long Cheerleader

Joann:  The Life of a Very Lucky, Short & Sassy Italian Girl!

Wow, what a great look into the workings of what is certainly a wonderful & productive partnership!  Kelly & Joann, thank you so much for letting us take a peek into your day, xo!
