Off to Italy for BlogTour Milan (& Venice)!

Apr 03 2014 · 2 comments · BlogTour Milan, Personal, Travel ·0

As I prepare to leave for BlogTourMilan and our visit to Venice with Modenus,  I find myself daydreaming about the last time I was in Venice with my family ~ in 1998! Could it really be 16 years, a short haircut and a much shorter Freddy ago??

Here are some photos of beautiful, majestic Venice and some personal ones from our family album…

This is my Emily, age 16, dancing with a gent in our hotel lobby

I can’t wait to see the Doges Palace again

We took a trip to the island of Murano, which is known for their beautiful glass.  My son Fred was able to try it and has blown glass here in Boston since his first experience there.

Yes, I wore my hair short for most of my life.  I was just too busy with my little ones to bother with anything longer until about 5 years ago…do you like my hair long or short?

Venice’s ‘Fruit Center’, we couldn’t believe that the fruit came on a barge/gondola…

This is a sketch from my daughter’s journal.  I was surprised to find her drawing of a chandelier, as you know I LOVE painting them…

When we traveled I  had my children carry a journal, pen,  and pencils ( both colored and lead). We always took our time in duomos and museums so that they could write and sketch during breaks.  It is such a treat now to look back on what “caught their eye”.

From Venice we traveled to Tuscany and this was one of our Christmas card options that year.  I remember my daughter not being thrilled to “wear a doily” for a blouse! But aren’t they sweet here?

I will forever grateful for the trips I took with my family.  I am so fortunate to have experienced seeing new places through their eyes. I am indeed a blessed woman!

As I finish my last minute packing for this new adventure with BlogTourMilan,  I am excited to see Venice again, this time from a more ‘experienced’ perspective.  I will be seeing Milan for the first time, which is equally exciting.   Not only will I be savoring new experiences, sharing design and cultural finds, but I will surely be making friendships and memories that will last a lifetime ~ cheers to that!

I invite you to follow along with my adventures (I will do my best to post during the trip but have been forewarned of ‘spotty’ internet coverage, plenty to share upon my return):

I have also arranged for several posts to be published while I’m in Italy ~ you will still be able to get your daily dose of Posh Palettes, no worries! 🙂

Ciao!

xo,

Pamela

Hi Pamela, I so enjoy reading your posts. Emily is a darling at 16 and a beautiful woman now. I worked with her for a brief time at Health Dialog and keep in touch with her through Facebook. She is one of my favorite people. I see now why she is so special – just like her mom! Loved the photos of Italy. And I like your hair short, it’s just like mine!
Enjoy your trip and can’t wait to see the pictures.

      Hello Again Marian,
So nice to hear from you again. You are in for a treat if you continue to read my blogs (I write this with true humility) the trip was an incredible treat and feast for design and a cultural experience I will be writing about for months! Em is terrific and just this weekend adopted not 1 but 2 puppies (labs) if you can believe it, sisters that she just couldn’t break up. She is in heaven and they are all adorable. Stay tuned xo P
