A Touch Of Europe Right Here At Home

Every time I step into the Rolf Benz Showroom at the Boston Design Center, I feel like I am in Milano. Why? Because this space is filled with vignettes replete with European flair.  The furniture, mostly sofa arrangements, is low, curved and sexy. The fabrics are lush and sumptuous. The simple design details are appealing to the eye. Of course to fully experience and appreciate the luxury and craftsmanship of the  pieces, you must sit down on a  Rolf Benz sofa.  That is just what I, along with several other designers, did on Tuesday at a special presentation in the Rolf Benz showroom…

Ahhhh, I just returned from a short vacation to Punta Cana, a popular resort area in the Dominican Republic.  Located on the same Carribean island as Haiti, Punta Cana is  on the eastern point of the Dominican Republic ~ a lovely spot indeed…

I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it again:  I love lighting!  Maybe it’s the way a fabulous  fixture makes the light glitter like diamonds.  Or maybe it’s the way lighting sets the mood for a space.  Perhaps it’s because my favorite light fixtures are sparkly and glamorous, reminding me of stars in the night sky.  Aaah, the romance of it all…

Pamela’s Posh Picks: Sarongs

As I was packing for my quick tropical getaway, my list was fairly simple:  comfortable yet stylish clothes for travel, a few ensembles for going out in the evening, and of course, beachwear.  Along with a bathing suit, one of my favorite pieces to wear when going to the beach is the ever-versatile sarong.  Sarongs, or pareos, come in an endless variety of motifs and styles, can be worn in a number of ways with varying amounts of “coverage”, and add elegance and grace to the beach.

Design Bloggers Conference, Part 2

As a first time attendee to the Design Bloggers Conference,  I will admit to being a little intimidated by the list of attendees, over 300 of them!  With so many well known designers and bloggers with their thousands  of followers and me still struggling with the # and @ signs of Twitter, well, perhaps you can understand my trepidation.  Have no doubt though,  I AM DETERMINED TO GET THERE!  Attending this conference was definitely a step in that direction!

Design Bloggers Conference, Part 1

Last week I flew to the glamorous, sunny side of our country and visited Los Angeles  for the Design Bloggers Conference 2013. The temperature was 84 degrees and the sun sprinkled my face with freckles and lifted my snow cast spirits upward. Little did I know that the only time I would see the blue skies was on the 2 hour ride to my hotel when I arrived. I was so riveted to my seat at this conference that I  barely had the opportunity to venture outside again until my 4 am return taxi ride back to  LAX  3 days later!
