Local Gem: David Brega Gallery

Nov 27 2012 · 0 comments · Art Exhibits & Events, Shops & Galleries ·1

The David Brega Gallery in Marshfield is a must visit  this Holiday Season. Tori Chesley Brega has curated an impressive collection of art work, her own outstanding jewelry creations and a variety of other beautifully crafted items perfect for gifts.

The Gallery is located at 58 Main St. (Rte. 3A) in Marshfield, MA 02050 (781-834-4561).

The entry is absolutely charming:

This is the view as you enter.  The displays allow you to take everything in in a peaceful manner…

This vignette caught my eye.

I love the mix of locally made pure honey products and the opulent necklace in autumn colors with the knit scarf.  I did purchase a gift here for someone on my Christmas list, shhhh it’s a secret…

These are two paintings from one of South Shore’s most distinguished artists, Jeanne MacFarland…

These most be seen in person to be truly appreciated.  The colors are transparent, warm and so lovely… you truly get lost in the beauty.

Every home should own 1, 2 , 3 or  maybe even 4 of these Sally Dean paintings!

I adore the whimsical detail and pattern in her work.   The imagination that goes into each of these compositions is amazing to me ~sheer joy,  just like Sally!

Of course no local gallery is complete without a wall devoted to Miss Lisa Daria Kennedy…

I urge you to collect a piece of her work now before you cannot afford to, she is bound for great heights!

I adore this Sailor’s Valentine and the romance it symbolizes. The intricate detail and workmanship must be viewed up close to be fully appreciated.

There are so many talented local artists (and friends) represented at this gallery: David Brega, of course, Sue Charles, Joan Brancale and Kelly MacDonald to name a few ~ definitely worth a visit!

On a side note, my sister Kate and I got our Christmas season off to a great start with a day of Festivus (my sister invented this word, not Seinfeld ;-)).  We thoroughly enjoyed shopping for every kind of sparkling tinsel, glittery ornament and package adornment. While we were there we couldn’t help but be silly and imagine different ways of using certain holiday decor~

I couldn’t resist sharing this with you!  Remember to have fun during this season that can be stressful ~ and what better way to stress less than to shop local at a beautiful gallery!

“I dream a lot.  I do more painting when I’m not painting.  It’s in the subconscious.”
