I’m so excited to present this month’s Posh Peek featuring my dear friends Kelly Kole and Joann Kandrac of Kandrac & Kole Interior Designs of Atlanta, GA . I first met Kelly in NYC at the Brizo event in Fall 2012 (Joann’s daughter was getting married at the time ~ priorities!). I met Joann a few months later at the Design Bloggers Conference in Los Angeles and well, I fell head over heels for both of them! Kelly and Joann ooze Southern charm, are wildly talented and totally supportive. We all will be traveling together both to Milan for BlogTour next month and also to Guatemala in June to build a home for a deserving family.

Last week at the Boston Design Center, Duralee introduced the new fabric line by Tilton Fenwick. The two women behind these glorious prints are Anne Maxwell Foster and Suysel dePedro Cunningham. They are partners who do everything together including maternity (even when only Anne had the baby)!

In case you didn’t hear via my Twitter or Facebook posts, I am beyond thrilled to announce that I have been selected by Veronika Miller and her team at Modenus to attend the upcoming BlogTour Milan! What is a BlogTour? In a nutshell, “BlogTour’s select interior design bloggers travel to international design events to bring you the latest interior design trends.” Our group will be attending Salon Del Mobile, Milan’s annual design week, along with a short trip to Venice. I can’t wait to share this adventure with you!

Last week Boston GLOW held their annual Ignite the Nite Gala to raise funds in support of aspiring girl leaders from Boston’s most under-resourced schools. I had a wonderful time socializing, admiring (and bidding on) great items in the silent auction, noshing on delicious food, and of course, dancing! I’m preparing for my first full day in Atlanta at the Design Blogger’s Conference (follow me on Twitter and Instagram for updates) but once again I have a poem (sort of) and a painting (sort of) to share. I’m all about bending the rules ~ especially when it comes to my blog and my art!
Today I’m sharing a very special mixed media shadowbox piece I created in honor of my son Fred, whose birthday was over the weekend. If you follow my blog, you know he is a musician, and that was the inspiration for this piece and the accompanying poem (ahem, song lyrics ~ shhh, don’t tell).

Just two more days until I jet off to Atlanta for this year’s Design Bloggers Conference! I am so looking forward to seeing my blogging buddies, hearing great speakers and seeing a little slice of Atlanta. While I probably won’t be visiting the Atlanta Botanical Garden on this trip, it’s definitely on my list for a future trip. In fact, I’d love to go if they ever bring back the Chihuly in the Garden exhibit that originally ran in 2004. During this exhibit, the majesty of Dale Chihuly’s glass was showcased with the inspiring plant collections of the Garden. Sounds amazing!
